Wynonna Writes A Letter to Her Friends

My Dearest Friends,

When I selected alli to be a part of my program, the fact that it was FDA approved was a deciding factor for me. In fact, alli is the only weight loss product you can buy over the counter that has been approved by the FDA. As the daughter of a nurse, that is incredibly important to me, and I can imagine that it’s important to you too.

With my recent 45th birthday, I am excited to report that my program is progressing well, one day at a time. With each step I feel healthier and more peaceful. I have more energy and am sleeping better too, so I feel less tired. My cholesterol is the lowest it has been since I was in my twenties (!), and I’ve noticed that back pain from a horseback riding accident in 1993 has decreased – that’s because now I’m able to do more core muscle work. They call alli “a pill with a plan” and that is exactly how it works.

While on the program, I have really begun to change my lifestyle. I am more physically active and I am making healthier food choices. I am enjoying being with my family and friends more. I made a promise to myself when I started taking alli that I would not get so determined that I had to lose a certain amount of weight, so I am making sure to stick to my mantra - “just for today, I'm going to allow myself to make healthier choices” – and enjoy the new, healthier me. In the process, I’m making healthy choices for my children, too.

I feel that I am finally beginning to fully embrace the concept that this truly is a journey and not a destination, and my "progress not perfection" approach is really paying off. I am enjoying the alli program more and more and I can honestly say for the first time in a long time, I am rediscovering how to live in the present and am concentrating again on living for today and not worrying about tomorrow. alli has taught me that "it works if you work it and I'm worth it" and that is the gift I am giving myself this year.

Judds Reunion? Wynonna Says Let the Fans Decide

Celebrating an illustrious 25 years in country music, Wynonna was all smiles as she performed with her mom, Naomi Judd, Saturday night in front of more than 40,000 fans at the CMA Music Fest. Aware of the monumental task of condensing a quarter-century of songs into one short set, Wynonna deferred to one of her own musical idol's suggestions. "The best advice I ever got was from Bono. He said, 'Give them what they want.' The fans love the hits. So we had to condense the Judds' 25-year history into 20 minutes."

Saturday night's performance was a rare reunion but not an isolated one. Already discussing the possibility of a new Judds record, Wynonna is letting fans take the lead on that decision . "It's sort of like one day at a time, one lifetime at a time," Wynonna said backstage at Music Fest. "If the fans ask for it, we will consider it."

Naomi may need a bit more convincing. After performing together last year, she admitted she had mixed emotions about the possibility. "It's a very unreal sensation because on one hand, it feels like we're still together. I feel like I should be getting ready to do a show tonight. On the other hand, I'm so stinking proud that she has this marvelous solo career."

Reunion talk aside, both Judds are currently thriving in their independent careers. Naomi will once again appear as a judge on CMT's 'Can You Duet' reality talent show, while Wynonna is busy touring to promote her album, 'Sing: Chapter 1,' as well as acting as a spokesperson for the weight-loss drug alli.

The Judds reunited on stage during Saturday’s CMA Music Festival concert at Nashville’s LP Field in an emotional procession that left Naomi Judd dabbing at tears after an enthusiastic response from more than 40,000 fans. Naomi was forced to retire from regular performing after an early-‘90s bout with hepatitis C. Though she’s been cured, she’s never returned to her old routine.

Who might Wynonna be willing to sing with in her mom’s absence? During CNN’s "Larry King Live," Larry asked about teenager Miley Cyrus as a possible duet partner, which left Wy noncommittal.

"I would have to think about that one," she responded. "In my opinion, I don't care how successful you are and how much money you have and how many records you are selling, it has to make sense musically. I will tell you this, I'm supposed to talk to Tony Bennett in the next couple of days. Can we talk? I'm in that place, where I'm looking ahead and going, ‘OK, let's not forget Tony Bennett.’ Miley is important and she lives like five miles from me. If she called me, I would have her come to my house and do some chores, and then think about singing with her."

Tony Bennett would be a no-brainer for Wy, whose latest album, Sing: Chapter 1, features remakes of songs originated by Nat "King" Cole, Tammy Wynette and Dionne Warwick.

"Could you imagine?" Wy said. "I cried. I got the message from my manager and she said, ‘Tony would love to sing with you.’ I seriously started to cry. I said this is like a tabernacle thing. We have to not forget that Tony Bennett is the greatest."

This year is the 25th anniversary of the Judds’ first No. 1 hit. "Mama He’s Crazy" reached No. 1 in Billboard on Aug. 4, 1984.
